Design Evaluation

MOONRISE KINGDOM
Both of the images that I selected are advertising the same movie, but both extremely different. I think that both of them are accurate representations of the movies, but only if you have seen the film.

The first poster is bright in contrasting colors, intriguing representations of characters and appealing typography. If I was to see this poster, I feel that I would be able get an idea of what the movie is about and gain interest in seeing it. I can tell that it is a divided group of people that includes a group of scouts, a young couple and what looks like a disheartened family. If I hadn't seen the movie, I think that this movie would leave me wondering more about the story.

The second poster does not have much color. Although the color scheme is pretty dull, the esthetics are very pleasing. It is a lot of random objects that are thoughtfully placed, but do not give you much of an idea of what the movie is about. Without seeing this movie, I think that this poster would leave me confused and not very interested in watching the movie. It does not involve any characters or give any hint to the story line.
